FRAME:

The structural integrity of GRAFCO tables, carrels, and carts, comes from a unitized, 16 gage, fully-welded, tubular steel frame. Carrel and table legs are 16 gauge, 1.25" square tubular steel with 1.25" diameter nylon, non-staining leg levelers featuring heavy-duty 0.31" screw-in stems. Legs on cantilever tables are 1.0" x 1.5" tubular steel. All carrel, table, and cart aprons have 16 gauge, 1.0" x 1.5" tubular steel, framing the underside of the work surface on all sides. TT series troughs are held in place by two horizontal steel undersupports, welded integral to the frame.

WOOD SURFACES:

Work surfaces, flipper lids, back and side panels, and other wood items are constructed with 0.75" thick, high quality, striated, medium density, 120 gram institutional grade laminate thermofused board. Optionally, any standard HPL may be selected and applied to the particle board substrate, with a backer sheet for balanced construction. High impact resistant, rounded, thick mill PVC edging is machine applied to all exposed edges for durability and to prevent warping through moisture infiltration. We do not use t-Molding.

Cabinets and Carrels are constructed to standard architectural quality requirements with superior strength and weight capacity.

CABLE TROUGHS AND J-CHANNELS:

Cable troughs and J-Channels are FULL table width. The interior dimensions of both are 6.25" from bottom to top, and 5.5" front to back. The fully-enclosed TT-Series trough has 3.5" diameter grommets (see below), at both ends, for networking with adjacent tables. It also has three 2.0" diameter openings, two in trough bottom and one in the middle of the front wall, so as to allow easy cable access from any direction.

HINGES:

European Hinges used on the TT-Series Flip-Tops are:

CONCEALED: To minimize being damaged, danger to user, and for aesthetics. ADJUSTABLE: To regulate the gap between the flipper door and the Cable Insertion Strip. This will allow adjustment for large diameter, or large quantities, of cables. CLIP ON/OFF: Flipper doors can be easily snapped off to facilitate cable and networking installation.

CABLE INSERTION STRIP: (see picture above)

The cable insertion strip is a heavy duty 0.5" neoprene strip which is glued and stapled to the back edge of the working surface. It meets the flipper lid, and acts to hold cables firmly without crimping them.

PLASTIC CABLE GROMMETS:

Standard Grafco grommets are 3.5" diameter, and feature pop-off lids, further stabilizing cables once wiring is in place.

HEIGHT ADJUSTABLE LEGS:

Grafco height adjustable legs consist of the standard 1.25" square tubular steel outer leg, and 1.0" square tubular insert legs. The outer leg has two bolt holes placed 2.5" apart. The insert has five threaded holes 2.5" apart to allow the table to be set at standard heights of 24" (Kindergarten), 26.5" (computer keyboard), 29" (writing or desk), and 31.5" (ADA Standard).

STANDARD WIDTHS, DEPTHS, & HEIGHTS:

Grafco offers our tables in dimensions fitting the demands of most labs and classrooms. Depths, depending on the model, are available from 20" to 36". Widths, likewise depending on the specific needs, are available from 24" to 96". Grafco enjoys a capacity for customizing to create dimensions other than Standard Sizes. Please call for details.

Standard heights are 24" to 29". We offer heights of 31.5" to meet ADA standards, and 38" for working while standing. Very short legs are offered if small table is to be used as raised shelf atop another table. Tables are available with adjustable-height leg inserts. (See above)

STANDARD DECORS AND COLORS:

Furniture is available in four STANDARD frame decors and six STANDARD wood surfaces decors. The frames are available in black, dark brown, beige, and fog grey. Wood surfaces are available in fog grey, grey glace, white, almond, light oak, and walnut.

We can manufacture furniture in any readily available laminate and color. There may be an upcharge for non-standard laminate and colors.
